REDISCOVER CHURCH -- September 18 and 19
As we enter into the Fall, we also enter into a very exciting season of helping our friends, neighbors and relatives rediscover church. Our city is filled with people who have drifted from church and we want to help them reconnect to one of the most important priorities in their lives; Jesus and His church.
On September 18th and 19th we will be having a special weekend where we are asking every person who calls CBC their church, to invite everyone you know to one of our weekend services where they will hear some compelling reasons why church should be a part of their lives. Don’t forget to pick up touch cards, door hangers, and posters from the Connection Center at your campus.
REDISCOVER CHURCH BLITZ – September 11
Next Saturday, September 11th we are having a “Blitz Day” to distribute touch cards and door knockers throughout our community. We are asking everyone to come out, eat a few donuts, have a cup of coffee, make a few new friends. We will be meeting at the RB, MP and 217 campuses at 8:30am and we will finish by noon.
WORSHIP, PRAYER, PRESENCE – September 17
On Friday night, September 17th join us at the Rocky Butte campus in the chapel at 7pm for a night of worship and prayer in the presence of God. We will pray for our Rediscover Church weekend and for every person who has received a touch card and for every visitor who will come, knowing that the power of prayer will begin to work in people's lives before they even step foot in church.
CAMPUS LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETINGS - September 14
Each campus will be having a Campus Leadership Team Meeting on Tuesday, September 14, from 7-9pm at their individual campus. Pastor Frank will be speaking to all the leaders as we move into the Fall. If you serve in any area of leadership in any ministry on a campus, whether with First Impressions or Children's Ministry, you're invited. Please attend the leadership team meeting at the campus where you serve. We're also asking all Lay Pastors, Ministry Leaders, and Small Group Leaders, Assistants and Host Homes to attend as well. Please bring a snack to share. Childcare is provided.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES
The Women’s Bible Study begins Wednesday, Sept. 22 and meets every Wednesday through Nov. 3. We’d love for you to join us at either the morning session at 9:30am or the evening session at 7pm. Together we’re going to study Beth Moore’s DVD curriculum Stepping Up. To register for this class fill out the registration card in the Connection Center, drop by the registration table in the lobby, or on our website at www.citybiblechurch.org/women. The cost is only $25 ($30 at the door). Childcare is provided at no additional cost. We will see you there!
MEN’S BIBLE STUDIES
The Men’s Bible Study is Wednesdays, Sept. 22- Oct. 27. We invite all men to join us at either the morning session at 6:15am or the evening session at 7pm. We’ll be going through Andy Stanley’s DVD curriculum Five Things God Uses to Grow Your Faith. Register by filling out the registration card at the Connection Center, stopping by the registration table in the lobby, or on our website at www.citybiblechurch.org/men. The cost is only $15. See you there!
VOTER’S REGISTRATION
One of the significant privileges we have has US citizens is the opportunity to shape and influence our society through political involvement. The most fundamental way we have of doing that is by voting. If you are not already a registered voter or if you have moved in the last year, please pick up a registration form in the lobby and send it in. The deadline to register to vote for Washington is October 4 and the deadline to register for Oregon is October 12.
BELIEVE CLASS
Our Believe class will be on September 12 during the Sunday 11am service on this campus. SCHOOL OF VOICE AND INSTRUMENTS
The School of Voice and Instrument is ready to launch into the Fall. Our teacher's here at SVI are excited to meet you and they are passionate about teaching worship music to students of all ages and skill levels. We offer lessons in a wide range of instruments including piano, voice, acoustic, electric and bass guitars, drums and violins.
